Finding Excitement In The Unremarkable
The power of a photograph.
We talk about composition and narrative. The use of subtleties and vagaries, encouraging depth and intrigue. We believe that hidden and elusive is more interesting than the obvious.
All true.
But maybe the power is more simple than we think.
The absence of colours.
Using only a single colour scheme with its shades, tints and tones, we find drama and strength in an image that could easily be dull and mundane.
I rather like the idea of finding excitement in the unremarkable.
The power of monochrome.
