Strip Out The Noise
So we walked and talked today.
We discussed how we are told that so many things in our world have importance when most are actually of little value.
We talked about how our time here will be gone in what feels like no time at all.
We talked about life and our society and how long it can take people to understand, if they ever do, that so much of it is not significant.
And we talked about death.
And what might be left of us, our legacy or physical selves, in ten, fifty or even a hundred years time.
And it made us realise that when we get to strip out all of the noise and pretense and justification for the way that others want us to live, well, it’s then that we see and feel the truth.
A truth that is simple and perhaps hard to face, but one that is clear. We are all just transitory beings, every single one of us, and we matter less than we would like to think.
