How To End With A Beautiful Beginning
It was the smile, I think, that first caused me to notice her. As warm and friendly a smile as I had seen in a long while. At least, that’s what I thought at the time. And, as is often the way with a beginning like this, once she had actually been seen, well, she just seemed to stay seen.
Perhaps an honest way of explaining how I felt at that time would be to say that I just couldn’t seem to take my eyes off her.
And in some respects, the rest of the story becomes largely irrelevant after such an exquisite opening.
Because, when you find something so genuine and perfect, even if, with hindsight, it becomes no more than a very small part of something way more complicated, well, I think that remembering it in beautiful isolation seems a much kinder thing to do.
And there really shouldn’t be anything wrong with a story that ends with a beautiful beginning.
